Large Indoor Plants That Will Survive In Your House

Nov 12

Towering indoor plants have a place in any house, whether they're utilized to fill empty corners, tall walls, or just to create a big statement.

These plants might be indoor trees or mature large-scale plants.

They may be placed individually or in a group to create a beautiful home area.

Depending on your home décor style, there are several sorts of large indoor plants to choose from. For example, if you want to add a tropical vibe to your modest city flat, you should buy palm trees or Birds of Paradise Plants. You'd go for tall cactus, such as Euphorbias, if you live in a more modern home and like a more minimalistic style.

It might be expensive to purchase indoor trees and tall indoor plants. As a result, it's essential to conduct some study in order to determine which plants are most suited to your lifestyle and environment. Low-maintenance, low-light, non-toxic, and air-purifying tall and large-scale plants are available to meet your requirements.

Fortunately, purchasing large size and tall indoor plants does not need robbing a bank. IKEA, Walmart, and Home Depot have all provided me with excellent quality trees and huge plants at reasonable prices. (I bought a Birds of Paradise Plant from IKEA a few months ago and I'm extremely pleased with it.) Since I brought it home, it has continued to develop and unfurl one new leaf after another!).

These are my favorite tall indoor plants since they are resilient, attractive, and low-maintenance.

AFRICAN MILK TREE

The African Milk Tree is the most low-maintenance tall indoor plant available. This plant need only intense light to survive.

I've had mine for a long time, and it's weathered years of neglect when my focus was entirely on my children and full-time employment.

This succulent, as previously said, thrives in strong light.

When grown indoors, watering should be limited to one a month.

Keep in mind that overwatering this plant will kill it.

For black thumbs, plant beginners, and busy folks with limited time to care for plants, this is an excellent indoor tall plant.

MADAGASCAR DRAGON TREE

Dracaenas, or Dragon Trees, are tall indoor plants that are relatively easy to cultivate.

They're ideal for plant novices as well as those who are really busy.

Moderate to low light levels are ideal for these plants. Its leaves will be burned if exposed to the sun for an extended period of time.

Dracaenas are drought resistant, therefore they don't require much watering. One of the most common reasons for plant death is overwatering. This plant may be watered up to three times each week, depending on how much light it gets.

Dracaenas are fluoride-sensitive plants, so if your tap water has high amounts of fluoride, it's better to water them with distilled water.

This plant works as an air purifier, removing formaldehyde, xylene, and trichloroethylene from the atmosphere.

FIDDLE LEAF FIG

Fiddle Leaf Fiddle Leaf Fiddle Leaf Fiddle Leaf Fi Figs come in two sizes: tiny and tall indoor plants.

While smaller plants are readily available, large trees are more difficult to come by and more expensive than Palms, Birds of Paradise, and other tall plants.

Fiddle Leaf Figs are simple to cultivate and maintain for after you discover the ideal location and master the watering plan.

It's been 13 years since I bought my Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree. It seems to like facing our South-looking window in the mornings and soaking up the direct sunshine. These plants require a great deal of strong light to thrive.

From spring until autumn, I water my once a week and fertilize it with liquid fertilizer.

SWISS CHEESE PLANT

Monsteras aren't only towering houseplants; they may also grow to be rather huge! They make a large impression in any room. To be presented, they require a large space.

These fast-growing tropical plants trail from pots or climb up trellises and poles. As it matures, you'll see that it has trailing aerial roots, making it incredibly easy to prune and spread.

Moderate to indirect bright light is ideal for Swiss cheese plants. Its lovely foliage will be yellowed by too much light and direct sunlight.

This plant needs to be watered in a consistent and moderate manner. When the top soil becomes dry, I water my plants once a week. I also recommend spraying this plant on a frequent basis to keep it at the proper humidity level.

NORFOLK ISLAND PINE

Norfolk Pines are lovely, towering indoor plants with rich foliage.

We've become accustomed to seeing these plants during the Christmas season, when they're adorned with miniature Christmas decorations and a sprinkling of glitter. The majority of people are unaware that Norfolk Pines are tropical plants that are sensitive to cold weather and need high humidity levels to survive.

Bright light is beneficial to Norfolk Pines. They thrive in strong indirect light and benefit from several hours in direct sunlight. These plants thrive in rooms and windows with a southerly orientation.

Water them when the top soil seems dry to the touch, but don't let them dry out between waterings (I water mine once a week).

To maintain the high levels of humidity that this plant demands to grow, you may either set it on a pebble tray filled with water or spray it on a regular basis.

ARECA PALM

Make careful you don't mix Areca Palms with palms like the Parlor Palm, since their amount of care differs significantly!

Areca palms prefer strong indirect light and do not survive in low-light environments! If exposed to too much direct sunlight, though, these plants' leaves may turn yellow!

This is not a plant that can be ignored; in fact, it requires frequent watering to keep the soil wet between waterings. Make sure the earth isn't completely dry!

If purchased as indoor tall plants at their maximum height of 6 to 7 feet, these palms can be costly, but because they grow quickly (6′′ to 10′′ per year), you can select a tabletop size and let it grow!!

Areca palms are a terrific way to give your house a tropical flair and a wow factor!

This plant also works as an air purifier, removing benzene, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, xylene, and trichloroethylene from the atmosphere.

BIRDS OF PARADISE

Among all the indoor tall plants, Birds of Paradise are unquestionably my favorite.

This is the epitome of a tropical plant, in my opinion. Growing and maintaining it is a breeze for me. It creates gorgeous unfolding leaves and grows quickly.

It's a lovely plant to have on its alone or in a green area of your house with other plants. The result is particularly lovely when coupled with a Fiddle Leaf Fig, as I did.

It's an incredibly flexible plant that thrives in both low and direct light.

Strelitzias prefer damp, but not too wet, soil. From spring until autumn, I water it once a week and let the top few inches dry up before watering it in the winter. It's preferable to keep this plant dry rather than overwater it.

Because this is a tropical plant, it will benefit from spraying on a frequent basis to help it maintain the humidity levels it needs to grow.

My favorite tall indoor plants are without a doubt these. I picked these seven plants since I've worked with them before and they're simple to care for and maintain.

Parlor Palms, Lady Palms, Yucca Trees, Rubber Plants, and Umbrella Plants are some more tall indoor plant possibilities.
